Water Delivery

OK, I have been considering this, and just have to ask. Do any of you guys do the water home delivery thing? You know, where you rent the cooler on a monthly basis, and get the big 3 or 5 gallon bottles of water delivered to you? Companies that do this include things like Planet Earth, Crystal Clear Water, El Dorado, and so forth. I know some friends that have it, and it's awesome. I'm considering getting one for myself. I had one once, a couple years ago, and it really did result in my drinking more water. Both because it was right there and automatically cold, and because it tastes better than most tap water.

So, what are your thoughts? Do you get water delivered, or is it too much of a luxury, or just a waste of time? Smile.

I agree that tap water is disgusting. I don't drink it. I drink bottled water, or the water that you're talking about. I'm not sure if you know this or not, but you don't have to rent the coolers. You can actually buy them, and just buy the water. We have one. It's nice to have.

I use the filters that go over the faucet.

I get my water from the fridge. What i mean is, it's filterd from the sink, I think, and it also has an ice maker. What is that called anyway?

An ice maker? *smile* I don't think it has a special name, that I know of. But anyway, I just get my water from the sink, and I don't think it has a special filtering device to it, that we've gotten separately anyway. I'd be willing to try out and use a water filtering thing if I had the money to spend on it myself, because I doubt my parents would buy one.

My parents had one of those water coolers at one time, and the water was delicious. I've thought about getting one, but I don't really have the space in my kitchen. Any opinions on good water filters for the sink?

The one I use is called Pure. I initially bought one from QVC because they got them before stores did. But now you can buy them in stores.

I started getting home delivery. It ended up too costly. about $7 or more for a 5 gallon bottle. I then bought an under the sink filter and love it. It comes up where the spray nozzle would go. The filters last about a year and are more cost effective than the ones that fit on the faucet. I also bought the water cooler. I have a 5 gallon bottle that I refill with that water. The cooler is such that you can get cold or hot water, like for tea or hot cocoa. If ewe want room temp, we get it from the filter at the sink.
I hope this helps.
P.S. The under the sink filter costs about $100. you will need some assistance to install it as well.

I live in an area where the tap water is fine to drink, that it doesn't have any strange mineral tastes to it and when refrigerated before drinking is really a favorite beverage of mine. *Smile

This does remind me of a place where I once worked part-time and management had considered getting one of those water coolers at a cost to each employee of something like five dollars out of each pay check. Must say that did cause a bit of an uproar as most of us there were not given to drink water at work.. maybe a cup of coffee but for that the tap water was fine... what all management didn't try to charge us for so that on payday we took no paychecks home.

a hair shop, my mom frequents, has one of those coolers. It really comes in handy. Especially, the hot and cold thing. I do not think though I would put out money for it.

Wow, I'd forgotten I posted about this topic. It had gone unresponded to for awhile, so I stopped looking at it. And then here are all your posts!

I'm kind of limited in what filtration system I can use because I live in an apartment, and they have fairly strict rules about me messing with their property, like the sink and water faucets. That's why I was considering the home delivery thing, and I have actually done it since I brought up this topic. It is a little more costly than I like, but the water tastes very good, and I like the hot and cold features of the cooler. I like tea, cocoa, and other instant things that use hot water. I rent the cooler so that way, if something goes wrong with it, it's up to the company to fix, not me. Grin.

Tonja, I had to laugh when you said you thought I was going to talk about water delivery as in water birth. Now there would be an interesting topic sometime. I bet it would go on the Health and Wellness board. Smile.
